Fashion influencer Nancy Tyagi, who recently took the internet by storm with her Cannes 2024 debut, has returned to India.
Nancy, who hails from a small town in Uttar Pradesh, impressed everyone with her presence at the prestigious film festival. What caught everyone's attention was that Nancy wore a voluminous gown not by any renowned designer, but she had stitched it herself.
The social media influencer returned to Mumbai, India, earlier today, and she received a warm welcome from the waiting paparazzi at the airport.
The papas told her not to get nervous and just smile for them. Nancy was pretty in a simple Lucknawi suit. She also thanked everyone for their love and support.
"Thank you so much, Sabhi Logon. Ko itna support kara Sabhi ne. Abhi tak yakeen nahi aa raha hai mujhe. Thank you so much for everything," she said.
Nancy impressed everyone with her pink ruffled gown that she had stitched from scratch on her own.
Her ruffled pink gown that she wore for the Cannes Red Carpet was made using 1,000 meters of fabric. The gown also had a long train, and it took her a month and more to create this gown, which weighed 20 kg.
23-year-old Nancy Tyagi hails from Baranwa village, Uttar Pradesh. She had come to Delhi to prepare for UPSC exams, but the lockdown hampered her dream of pursuing civil services. That's when she took to designing dresses. Earlier, she began by copying the famous dresses of actresses. She would recreate their looks, right from buying the cloth, matching lace, and stitching it on her mother's old sewing machine.
She also made history by speaking in Hindi at the Cannes Red Carpet. She was also hailed by Sonam Kapoor, and the actress shared a post on Nancy asking her to make something for her soon. Nancy has also said she would want to meet Sonam Kapoor soon and create something for her.
