'Elite' series fame Julian Ortega dies at 41 after suffering a heart attack on a Spain beach

Julian Ortega, best known for his role in the popular Netflix series "Elite," tragically passed away at the age of 41 after suffering a heart attack on a beach in Spain. Ortega, who played the manager of La Cabana in "Elite," was on Zahora Beach in Barbate when he suddenly collapsed.

Julian Ortega, best known for his role in the popular Netflix series "Elite," tragically passed away at the age of 41 after suffering a heart attack on a beach in Spain. Ortega, who played the manager of La Cabana in "Elite," was on Zahora Beach in Barbate when he suddenly collapsed.

Despite the quick response from onlookers who called for medical assistance and the efforts of paramedics who attempted to resuscitate him using a defibrillator for over half an hour, Ortega could not be saved. The incident occurred under a beach bar on the southwest side of Marbella, Spain, on the night of Sunday, August 25.

Born in Madrid, Ortega had a significant impact on the entertainment industry. His notable roles in projects such as "Caronte" (2020), "Nunc Et in Hora" (2010), and the critically acclaimed "Elite" (2018) showcased his versatile acting skills. "Elite," a drama revolving around the challenges faced by three working-class scholarship students at an elite high school, gained immense popularity, streaming to over 20 million Netflix accounts within its initial months of release.
Ortega's passing has left a void in the hearts of his fans and fellow entertainers. He was not only admired for his talent but also for his genuine and kind nature. His colleagues remember him as an incredible actor and a compassionate human being. Goya Award-winning performer Fernando Tejero penned a heartfelt tribute, stating, "Life can be so cruel sometimes. I'm heartbroken, dear friend. You were such a great actor and an even better person, Julian Ortega. Fly high."
