Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi's Thandel, which is doing good business at the box office, is based on a true incident about the Indian fishermen from Srikakulam who were imprisoned in Pakistan.

Thandel, which hit the screens this Friday, is directed by Chandoo Mondeti and presented by Allu Aravind.

But not many know that it has a surprise connection to Allu Aravind's son and superstar Allu Arjun. According to a report by Great Andhra, it revealed that a Pakistani jailer asked for the actor’s autograph and it actually led to the making of Thandel.

Producer Bunny Vas said he learned of the instance when a Pakistani jailer gave the fishermen his address and asked them to send Allu Arjun’s autograph to him.
