Filmmaker Pahlaj Nihalani, a name synonymous with successful 90s blockbusters, has unleashed a torrent of accusations against frequent collaborator David Dhawan, claiming the celebrated director was a "dummy director" who frequently went missing from shoots and actively turned actors against him.

Pahlaj Nihalani, who produced a string of hits with Dhawan including Aankhen and Shola Aur Shabnam, alleges he was the true driving force behind their joint successes, while Dhawan merely took the credit.

In a candid interview on Vickey Lalwani’s YouTube channel, Nihalani pulled no punches, asserting that Dhawan "poisoned" Govinda’s mind against him. "They thought I had made a lot of money from Aankhen because of them; when in fact, they got famous because of me," Nihalani declared.

He elaborated on his pivotal role, stating, "I got the story and the screenplay, dialogues were written by Anees Bazmee, I was the one who went for song recordings, I would shoot the songs. David only filmed the scenes."
