Jin of BTS recently gave fans a unique and unvarnished look into the group's innermost thoughts on their 2020 worldwide hit song, "Dynamite," during an appearance on the Netflix series Screwball, which premiered on May 18.

Although the lively, disco-influenced first full english single of the group helped the K-pop stars break records around the world and gain millions of fans, Jin admitted that the members themselves didn't initially enjoy the song, which has generated intense online debate.

Speaking on the show, Jin shared, “We were very lucky. Here's the thing with 'Dynamite.' It was never the song that the members favoured.” He explained that after their scheduled tour was cancelled due to the pandemic, their agency presented them with three demo tracks. “Dynamite was the first one we heard. We asked for alternatives, but we liked the other two less,” he continued. “We weren't exactly thrilled about it,” Jin added, as reported by Sportskeeda.

With its August 2020 release, "Dynamite," which debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and made BTS the first all-South Korean act to top the chart, became a cultural phenomenon. It was the biggest digital sales week for any song since Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" in 2017, with an incredible 265,000 downloads sold in its first week.
