Boney Kapoor shares throwback photo with wife Sridevi from Tirupati temple

Film producer Boney Kapoor recently went down the memory lane and stirred memories by sharing a nostalgic photograph with his late wife, the legendary actress Sridevi, on Instagram.

With Sridevi looking stunning in a pink silk saree and Boney wearing a traditional dhoti, the photo depicts a very intimate moment. On the steps of the Tirupati Balaji temple, which held great spiritual significance for the couple, they are seated together.

Alongside the image, Boney wrote simply: “From one of our many trips to Tirupati BALAJI.”

For the Kapoor family, Tirupati remains a place of love and remembrance. In an interview with Prabhat Khabar, their daughter Janhvi Kapoor reflected on her mother’s devotion to the temple. “I take the script of each of my film to Tirupati. When she worked, mom used to visit the temple on her birthday every year. But, that stopped after her marriage. An inner voice told me to visit the temple on her birthday and I started going there on her birthdays. Now, the new year has also been added to that list.”

The bond between Boney and Sridevi began long before they became husband and wife. It was on the sets of the 1987 classic Mr. India that Boney first worked with her. Signing her for the film — which also featured Anil Kapoor and Amrish Puri — was, for him, a dream come true.
