The family of Charu Khandal, a character animator working for Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment, who tragically died in 2017 after sustaining life-altering spinal injuries in a traffic accident five years earlier, has recently had a Rs 62 lakh settlement upheld by the Bombay High Court.

Given the severe loss Khandal's family has suffered, the decision to maintain the compensation that was first awarded by the Motor Accidents Claim Tribunal has been praised as a fair and just outcome.

As per Live Law, the compensation given to the family of Charu Khandal, a character animator working for Red Chillies Entertainment, was confirmed by a bench made up of Justices Girish Kulkarni and Advait Sethna.

After being in a terrible car accident in 2012 that left her paralysed from the neck down, Charu Khandal's life took a terrible turn. Charu's health declined over time despite receiving extensive medical care, and she passed away from her wounds in 2017 at the young age of 28.
