The World Cup-winning batter is rumoured to be tying the knot with her long-time boyfriend, music director and filmmaker Palash Muchhal, and social media can’t stop talking about it.
The buzz began when images of a wedding invitation card featuring the couple’s names went viral online. The card lists 20 November 2025 as the wedding date, with Sangli, Maharashtra — Smriti’s hometown — as the venue.
The viral card spread quickly after a fan page dedicated to the cricketer shared it, prompting a flood of congratulatory messages from supporters and fellow athletes.
While some believe the invitation is genuine, others suspect it may be a creative fan-made gesture. Still, the excitement has been impossible to contain.
According to reports, the ceremony is expected to be a traditional Maharashtrian wedding, attended by close friends, family members, fellow cricketers, and a few familiar faces from the film industry. However, neither Smriti nor Palash has confirmed the news yet, leaving fans eagerly waiting for an official announcement.
Smriti, who recently helped India clinch the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup, has been at the peak of her career. With over 5,300 runs in 117 ODIs, she continues to be one of India’s most consistent and graceful batters, her poise at the crease matched only by her calm off-field demeanour. Their relationship, though always private, has been an open secret among fans. Earlier this year, Palash shared a photo from the Women’s World Cup celebrations with the caption, “Sabse aage hai hum Hindustani.”
