Madhutri posted the 20-second teaser on social media on Wednesday. In the video, Madhuri is seen taking off her jewellery and makeup before the scene cuts to a terrifying shot of her wearing a prison uniform and grinning knowingly. Her daring new persona as a menacing serial killer is one of her darkest roles to date.
Madhuri previously created a buzz among her fans with a mysterious Instagram post that included altered lyrics from her well-known songs. Fans speculated about a big announcement when phrases like "Ek Do Teen Chaar Paanch Cheh Saath Aath" and "Bholi si surat, ankhon mein masti" appeared across slides with the caption "Coming soon."

Mrs Deshpande is an official remake of the French thriller La Mante. In La Mante, a serial killer is forced into an emotionally charged partnership with her estranged son in order to assist in the capture of a copycat murderer. Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, the series is backed by Applause Entertainment in association with Kukunoor Movies.
