Veteran actor Satish Shah passed away on Saturday, October 25, after facing kidney-related complications. The actor’s funeral was held the next day at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle (West), Mumbai.
However, Amul recently paid tribute to Satish Shah with a special black-and-white picture that is winning the internet’s hearts.
The official social media handle of Amul shared the picture with the caption, “Amul Topical: Tribute to popular comedic actor!”
The posthumous marked his youth and final years. The pic featured the phrase "Hasaane Bhi Do Yaaro" cleverly playing on the name of the classic Hindi comedy film Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, in which Satish Shah had a memorable role, and perfectly encapsulates his identity as a beloved comedian.
The bottom right corner contains the tribute text, "Satish Shah 1951-2025".
For the unversed, Satish Shah died Saturday afternoon at his Bandra East home. He was 74. His manager revealed that he unexpectedly collapsed during lunch. The actor received a kidney transplant a few months ago after battling kidney issues for several months.
In the 1980s, Satish Shah's varied roles in the sitcom Ye Jo Hai Zindagi earned him the nickname "Comedy King." He maintained his run in the 1990s and 2000s by starring in series like Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai, Ghar Jamai, and Filmi Chakkar.
Satish Shah rose to fame with his stellar performance and comic timing on Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, which starred Sumeet Raghavan, Rajesh Kumar, Ratna Pathak Shah and Rupali Ganguly in the lead roles.

After starting his film career at the FTII in 1976, Satish Shah gained recognition in 1981 with Kundan Shah's Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro. He later starred in some of the most well-known Bollywood films, including Fanaa, Main Hoon Na, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Om Shanti Om, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, and Hum Aapke Hain Koun.
