Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi starrer Bhool Chuk Maaf officially hit the theatres with a decent response from the audience after facing legal issues. Directed by Karan Sharma, the film is expected to witness a surge at the box office collection.
According to Sacnilk, Bhool Chuk Maaf is estimated to gross Rs 6.75 crore net in India on its opening day. The film had an overall 19.36% Hindi occupancy on its first day.
Meanwhile, the film gave stiff competition to Suniel Shetty and Sooraj Pancholi's Kesari Veer at the box office. It earned around 0.25 crore in India net on its first day with 6.62% Hindi occupancy on May 23.
Bhool Chuk Maaf received a mixed response from the critics and audiences alike. The film was initially scheduled to release in the theatres on May 9. However, the makers of the romantic comedy decided to skip theatre release and directly move to Amazon Prime Video premiere, which led to a legal battle with PVR INOX.

However, the court halted the OTT release of the film, with the makers later deciding to release it in the theatres. However, the reports have suggested that Bhool Chuk Maaf will be released on the OTT platform following its two-week theatrical run.
The latest small-town love story is produced by Maddock Films, Amazon, MGM Studios and PVR Inox. The film revolves around Rajkummar’s character, Ranjan, who is a small-town romantic boy from Banaras, lands a government job to marry Titli, played by Wamiqa Gabbi, but forgets his vow to Lord Shiva-only to be trapped until he fulfils his promise. A hilarious tale of love, fate, and redemption unfolds.
