Ben Affleck is officially moving on after finalising his divorce from Jennifer Lopez. The actor, who was declared legally single on February 21 following their split, is now “casually dating,” as reported by People magazine.
A source close to the actor was quoted saying, “Ben's casually dating,” but it isn’t a major priority for him right now. Instead, he is deeply focused on work. “If he's not filming, he spends long days at his office,” the insider added.
In addition to his professional commitments, Affleck is spending quality time with his three children — Violet Anne (19), Seraphina Rose (16), and Samuel (12) — whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. The source noted that he is particularly close to his youngest son, Samuel.
Affleck and Lopez’s relationship has been a whirlwind romance spanning over two decades. They first got engaged in the early 2000s before calling it off in 2004. After rekindling their love in 2021, they married in an intimate Las Vegas ceremony in July 2022, followed by a lavish celebration in Georgia. However, their fairy-tale reunion was short-lived. Lopez filed for divorce on August 20, 2024, citing irreconcilable differences, with their official separation date listed as April 26, 2024.
As Affleck moves forward, he remains occupied with upcoming projects. He is set to return as Christian Wolff in The Accountant 2, the sequel to his 2016 action-thriller, which will premiere at the SXSW Film Festival on March 8.
Additionally, he recently teased RIP, his latest action film, during Netflix’s 2025 Next on Netflix Special Presentation. Affleck described the project as a mix of Heat, Narc, and Training Day. The film, which reunites him with longtime friend Matt Damon, is expected to release later this year on Netflix.
