Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, known for his candor and wit, recently attended the trailer launch of his upcoming film, Khel Khel Mein, in Mumbai. Accompanied by his co-stars Vaani Kapoor, Pragya Jaiswal and Amy Virk, Akshay Kumar addressed the media with his trademark humor, even when faced with questions about his recent box office failures.
A reporter asked Akshay Kumar about the not so great performance of some of his recent films, despite their rich content. In response, Kumar shared a light-hearted incident, revealing that he often receives what he describes as "condolence type" messages whenever his movies don't do well, "Main mara nai hu..main mara nai hu.. vo wale message nai hote jo obituary wale, condolence wale aate, are yaar. Isiliye kisi journalist likh bhi diya ‘don’t worry you will be back.” Arre main usse likh bhi diya bhai yeh kyun likh raha hai, main gaya kahan hu, idhar hi hu, kaam karta rahunga, hamesha karta rahunga. Koi kuch bhi bole. Subh uthna hai, kasrat karna hai, kaam pe jaana, waapis aana hai. Jo bhi kamata hu, apne dum pe kamata hu, kisi se kuch manga nai hai. I will keep on working till they shoot me down."
Akshay Kumar's candidness about his box office failures is well-known. His recent films, including Sarfira and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, did not meet box office expectations. While he acknowledges the heartbreak of seeing a film fail, he remains optimistic and sees every failure as a learning experience. "Whatever happens, happens for good. Four or five films didn't do well, and I received messages like 'sorry, friend.' I say, don't worry, everything will be fine. I'm not dead, I'm still here," he remarked with a smile.
During the event, Akshay Kumar emphasized his unwavering dedication to his craft. "I will always keep working, no matter what people say. I have to get up in the morning, exercise, go to work, and then come home. Whatever I earn, I earn on my own. I have never asked for anything from anyone. I will keep shooting till my last breath," he asserted.
In a previous interview with Forbes, Kumar reflected on how failures have shaped his career. "Every failure teaches the value of success and increases the hunger for it even further. Luckily, I learned to deal with it earlier on in my career. Of course, it hurts and impacts you, but that won't change the fate of the film," he shared.

Khel Khel Mein, a comedy-drama, is set to hit theaters on August 15. The film's release coincides with the premiere of Rajkummar Rao's Stree 2 and John Abraham's Vedaa, setting the stage for an exciting box office clash.
