Ajay Devgn’s much-anticipated film Raid 2 is all set to hit theatres on May 1. In the lead-up to its release, Ajay Devgn, along with director Raj Kumar Gupta and producers Bhushan Kumar and Kumar Mangat Phatak, visited the iconic National Stock Exchange (NSE) in Mumbai to take part in the Bell-Ringing Ceremony in celebration of Akshaya Tritiya.
The special event, held on the morning of April 30, 2025, saw the team of Raid 2 ringing the opening bell. Ashish Chauhan, Managing Director and CEO of NSE, welcomed the cast and crew with a heartfelt speech, adding a festive spirit to the occasion.
The eagerly anticipated sequel, Raid 2, delves deeper into themes of corruption, political power, and high-stakes drama after the huge success of the 2018 movie Raid. Ajay Devgn returns to his heroic role as Income Tax officer Amay Patnaik, but this time he faces off against a fierce new foe: Riteish Deshmukh's cunning and power-hungry politician, Dadabhai. The film's compelling core is the confrontation between these two characters.
The trailer showcases an intense narrative centred around the confrontation between Ajay and Riteish, promising an exciting and suspenseful ride. While Riteish ventures into uncharted territory by portraying a manipulative political figure with chilling finesse, Ajay once again exhibits his trademark stoic and commanding on-screen persona.
The original Raid was inspired by a real-life income tax operation carried out in the 1980s by officers of the Indian Revenue Service. The legacy is continued and the stakes are raised in Raj Kumar Gupta's sequel, Raid 2. After several delays last year, the movie, which is supported by producers Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar, is finally set for release on May 1, 2025.
