BJP's candidate Krishan Pal Gurjar is set to win in the Faridabad constituency of Haryana as per latest trends. He is currently ahead of Congress's Mahender Pratap Singh.
Gurjar has a lead of around 1 lakh 69 thousand votes against INC's Singh, according to leads at 7:00 pm.
Voting took place on May 25 in the Faridabad constituency during the sixth phase of the seven-phase general election. It is expected to be a close contest between Congress and BJP.
In 2024, Union minister Krishan Pal Gurjar was again fielded by the BJP against Congress veteran Mahender Pratap Singh. Gurjar, who is set to script a hattrick, won from Faridabad in 2014, and 2019 as well.
While Congress’s Singh, a five-time MLA who has served as a minister in the state in the past, was looking to make a comeback, JJP youth president, Nalin Hooda was also looking to challenge BJP's dominance in the area.
Gurjar and Singh both belong to the Gurjar community which is seen as a crucial factor for a win in Faridabad.
