The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced that the last date to apply for the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and Havaldar Recruitment 2025 is July 24, 2025. Eligible candidates who have not yet submitted their applications must do so by 11 PM toady via the official SSC website or the mySSC mobile app.
The online application process for SSC MTS and Havaldar Recruitment 2025 began on June 26, 2025, and will close on July 24, 2025 (11 PM). Candidates must ensure that their application fee payment is completed by July 25, 2025 (11 PM). Those who need to make corrections in their submitted forms can do so between July 29 and July 31, 2025 (till 11 PM). The computer-based examination is tentatively scheduled to be held from September 20 to October 24, 2025.
Vacancy Details for MTS and Havaldar Posts
The SSC MTS recruitment drive aims to fill various non-technical positions such as Peon, Chowkidar, Jamadar, Mali, and Gatekeeper across different central government departments. Additionally, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) are recruiting for Havaldar posts.
While the exact number of MTS vacancies has not been disclosed yet, the commission has confirmed 1,075 vacancies for Havaldar positions. Last year, over 57 lakh candidates applied for 9,583 vacancies, indicating intense competition.
Eligibility Criteria for SSC MTS & Havaldar 2025
- To apply for these posts, candidates must have passed Class 10th from a recognized board.
- For MTS positions, the age limit is 18–25 years (as of August 1, 2025), with relaxations of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates.
- For Havaldar posts, the age limit is slightly higher at 18–27 years, with the same relaxations for reserved categories.
The SSC MTS 2025 exam will be conducted in two sessions:
Session-I (Qualifying Round)
This section includes Numerical & Mathematical Ability and Reasoning (40 questions, 60 marks). Candidates need to score a minimum of 30% for General, 25% for OBC/EWS, and 20% for SC/ST/PwD categories to qualify. There is no negative marking in this session.
Session-II (Merit-Based)
This section consists of General Awareness and English Language (50 questions, 150 marks). Unlike Session-I, there is negative marking (1 mark deduction per wrong answer). The final selection for MTS posts will be based on performance in this session.
For Havaldar recruitment, candidates must also clear the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). Male candidates must complete a 1600-meter walk in 15 minutes, while female candidates must finish a 1 km walk in 20 minutes.
