The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the Common University Entrance Test, Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2024 day 2 exam on May 16, 2024, and recorded an average attendance of 79.54 percent, informed University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman M Jagadesh Kumar.
The test was conducted for Hindi, Economics, Mathematics and Physics all over India across 1,578 test centres.
The number of candidates who wrote today's papers is as follows:
- Hindi: 2,07,872 candidates in 996 centres; Attendance 85 percent
- Economics: 2,13,929 candidates in 849 centres; Attendance 78 percent
- Mathematics: 4,86,312 candidates in 1,276 centres; Attendance 78 percent

Since students write multiple tests, the above is equivalent to handling 15,81,479 students on a single day, Kumar said, adding that this constitutes 27.29 percent of the total scheduled slots for students registered in pen-and-paper mode.
“Yesterday and today, we have covered 72 percent of the total students who have registered for CUET-UG. The average attendance today is 79.54 percent higher than yesterday2,” Kumar said.
NTA recorded more than 75 percent attendance at the CUET UG 2024 day 1 conducted on May 15, 2024. The first day of CUET-UG was conducted for Chemistry, Biology, English and General Tests all over India except 258 centres in Delhi.
