National Institute of Food Technology to be set up in Bihar: FM Nirmala Sitharaman

In a major boost to the food processing sector, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the establishment of the National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship, and Management in Bihar during her Union Budget 2025-26 speech. The initiative aims to accelerate food processing activities in the Eastern region, benefiting farmers, entrepreneurs, and young professionals.

The upcoming institute is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing farmers' income by adding value to their agricultural produce. With a focus on modern food processing techniques and innovation, it will help farmers transition from raw produce to market-ready products, ensuring better prices and reducing post-harvest losses.
