Bihar DElEd Exam 2025 Begins Today: Check Dress Code, Gate Closure Timings, Mandatory Documents and More

The Bihar Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) Joint Entrance Examination 2025 begins today, August 26, marking the start month-long process for aspiring teachers in the state.

The exam will be held in two distinct phases across multiple districts. From August 26 to September 13 (excluding August 31 and September 5), the test will be conducted at 19 centers in Patna, Bhojpur, Darbhanga, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Saharsa, Munger, and Purnia. The exam timings for this phase are:

• First Shift: 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM


• Second Shift: 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM

The second phase, from September 14 to September 27, will shift to 18 centers in Patna, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Saharsa, and Munger, with revised timings:

• First Shift: 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM


• Second Shift: 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM

With thousands of candidates appearing, the Board has issued a detailed set of guidelines to ensure a smooth and fair examination process. Here are the 10 essential rules every candidate must know:

1. Strict Gate Closure Policy
Candidates must report to the examination center well in advance. The entry gate will be closed 30 minutes before the exam's scheduled start time. No candidate will be permitted entry after this deadline under any circumstances.

2. Dress Code and Footwear Restrictions
In a significant directive, wearing shoes is strictly prohibited inside the examination hall. Candidates must wear open footwear like slippers or chappals.

3. Biometric Verification Readiness
For a seamless biometric verification process, candidates must ensure their fingers are free of any henna, nail polish, or ink stains. Any obstruction could lead to delays or complications during the mandatory identity check.

4. Mandatory Documents to Carry
Candidates must bring the following items:

• A printout of the e-admit card with a recent color photograph pasted on it. This photo must match the one uploaded in the application form.


• An original, government-issued photo ID proof for verification (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, Passport, or Bank Passbook).


• Photocopies of both the admit card and the ID proof. The original admit card will be collected at the center.

5. Prohibited Items
Candidates are strictly forbidden from carrying any electronic devices, including mobile phones, Bluetooth earphones, pagers, calculators, or any other gadget. Bringing books, notes, or bags into the exam hall is also not allowed.
