Greater Noida is all set to get a wellness-focused public space, an Ayurveda Park, that draws inspiration from Noida’s well-known Ved Van Park, The Times of India reported.
The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has earmarked a 15-acre plot in Sector 16 of Greater Noida West for this project to create a green space that promotes the rich traditions and healing practices of Ayurveda.
The park will feature themed landscaping, medicinal plant gardens, and wellness zones, allowing visitors to experience nature while learning about the ancient science of health and healing. The GNIDA has floated a request for proposal (RFP) to select an architect or urban design firm that will prepare the master layout.
According to a GNIDA official, firms participating in the bidding process will have to present their concept plan and showcase relevant past work before an expert evaluation committee. “The design that best matches the vision and guidelines provided by the Authority will be selected for execution,” TOI quoted a GNIDA official as saying.
The chosen firm will conduct a detailed analysis of the site, taking into account the topography, geology, soil type, water flow patterns, environmental sensitivity, and how tourism or commercial activities might affect the area.
Beyond the core Ayurvedic theme, the park will also include walking paths, gardens, children’s play zones, fountains, seating areas, lawns, and even a laser show to enhance the visitor experience.
Noida’s Ved Van Park
India's first Vedic-themed park was inaugurated in Noida's Sector 78 on July 4, 2023. The park, named Ved Van Park, is a blend of spirituality, culture, and nature, that offers an immersive experience into the world of the four Vedas: Rig Veda, Yajur Veda, Sama Veda, and Atharva Veda, according to an India Today report. The theme park was constructed with a budget of Rs 27 crore.
The park is divided into seven zones, each named after revered sages of the Vedic age such as Vishvamitra, Vasishtha, and Agastya, among others. Each zone offers a unique exploration of the themes and teachings of the Vedas.
