A 30-year-old Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) development officer, Ravindra Ahirwar, died suddenly while playing cricket in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday morning. The incident took place at the Government Inter College (GIC) ground, where Ravindra had gone to play after several weeks.

According to witnesses, Ravindra was bowling during a friendly match when he started feeling uneasy. He paused for water, but soon after drinking, he began vomiting and collapsed on the field. His teammates rushed to help and immediately took him to Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Ravindra, a resident of Nalganj in the Sipri Bazaar area, was known for his cheerful nature and love for cricket. His younger brother, Arvind Ahirwar, said Ravindra had been perfectly fine that morning. He had woken up early, shared tea with his father, and left for the ground in good spirits. “We got a call an hour later saying he had suddenly fallen ill. By the time we reached the hospital, he was gone,” News18 quoted Arvind as saying.

Ravindra was the second of three brothers and had joined LIC two years ago. His family and friends described him as hardworking, dedicated to his job, and passionate about cricket.
