Finance Minister Sitharaman extends re‐export window for rail industry

The Budget also proposes to extend the time limit for re-import of goods for repairs under warranty from three to five years

The Government of India has extended the window for the re‐export of products imported by railway companies.

The government has extended the window for the re‐export of products imported by the railways industry, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on February 1 while presenting the Budget for 2025-25.

"To promote domestic railways, I propose to extend the period for export of goods imported for repairs from six months to one year," Sitharaman said as she presented the first full Budget of Modi 3.0.
