Mercedes-Benz reports best-ever first quarter sales; core, top-end segments drive growth

Luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz India today reported its best-ever first quarter performance, retailing 4,238 units at a growth of 10% year-on-year (y-o-y) in Q1 FY26, amid a robust demand for core and top-end luxury vehicles.

The top-end luxury battery electric vehicle (BEV) portfolio also witnessed a strong acceleration, increasing its penetration in the overall volume.

According to the carmaker, the record sales were achieved despite challenges, including foreign exchange fluctuations, price hikes and market dynamics. There were pricing challenges in the entry luxury segment as well.

The core segment, comprising the C-Class and the E-Class LWB sedans, and the GLC and the GLE SUVs, contributed 60% to the volume with a growth of 10% y-o-y in Q1 FY26.
