Citroen Basalt X range launched in India, new prices start from Rs 7.95 lakh

Citroen India has launched the Basalt X Range, introducing premium features and a new in-car assistant, CARA. Prices start at Rs 7.95 lakh and go up to Rs 12.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries will begin during this festive season. The test drives will begin in mid-September.

The Basalt X is part of Citroen's 'Shift Into the New' 2.0 strategy and represents a step up in design, technology, and customer experience. The company says the model blends the bold stance of an SUV with the coupe-like silhouette of a crossover, while retaining Citroen's comfort-focused DNA.

The Basalt X is offered with multiple powertrain and trim combinations. The entry-level PureTech 82 naturally aspirated petrol (82bhp and 110Nm) with manual transmission starts at Rs 7.95 lakh in the You variant. The Plus trim with the same engine is priced at Rs 9.42 lakh. For the turbocharged PureTech 110 engine (110bhp and 190N), the Plus MT is priced at Rs 10.82 lakh, the Plus AT at Rs 12.07 lakh, the Max MT at Rs 11.62 lakh, and the top-spec Max AT at Rs 12.89 lakh. All the prices are ex-showroom.

CARA, Citroen's new intelligent in-car assistant, will be available as standard on the Max Automatic variant for initial bookings. Optional add-ons include the HALO 360° camera system at Rs 25,000 and a dual-tone roof at Rs 21,000.
