Thomas Dohmke, who previously led GitHub, announced on February 10 the launch of a new company called Entire, positioning it as a next-generation developer platform focused on agent-to-human collaboration.
Entire has raised a $60 million seed round, led by Felicis, with participation from Madrona, M12, and Basis Set, as well as investments from several industry leaders.
The company, in a release, said this is the largest seed investment ever raised in the developer tools segment.
Alongside the funding announcement, Entire is also shipping its first product.
The company is releasing an open-source command-line interface that automatically captures context from AI coding agents and synchronises it into a code repository with every push.
The idea is to ensure that code generated by agents does not lose critical context as it moves through traditional software workflows.
Dohmke, in the release, said the company is being built to address a structural gap emerging from the rapid adoption of AI agents in software development.
According to him, the volume of code being generated by agents is growing at a pace that is increasingly difficult for humans to understand or review using existing processes fully.
“We are living through an agent boom, and now massive volumes of code are being generated faster than any human could reasonably understand. The truth is, our manual system of software production—from issues, to git repositories, to pull requests, to deployment—was never designed for the era of AI in the first place,” Dohmke said in the release.
Entire is betting that as AI agents become deeply embedded in how software is written, developers will need new primitives and tooling that treat agents as first-class participants in the development lifecycle rather than bolt-ons to workflows designed for humans.
The funding round values Entire at $300 million and also includes individual investments from industry leaders such as Yahoo co-founder Jerry Yang, Datadog CEO Olivier Pomel, and Y Combinator head Garry Tan.
The startup’s first open-source release, called Checkpoints, captures AI agent reasoning, prompts, and decisions on every Git commit, and launches with support for Anthropic’s Claude Code and Google’s Gemini CLI.
Entire is a remote-first company with 15 employees and plans to scale its engineering team over the coming months, ahead of a broader platform launch later this year.
