U.S. airstrikes targeted areas around Yemen's Red Sea port city of Hodeida, resulting in at least six fatalities and 16 injuries, according to Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

The strikes specifically hit the al-Hawak district, which encompasses the city's airport—a site previously used by the rebels to launch attacks on Red Sea shipping.

Since the start of the U.S. airstrike campaign aimed at countering Houthi assaults on maritime vessels amid the Israel-Hamas conflict, the Houthis report a total of 79 deaths.

Footage aired by the rebels' al-Masirah satellite news channel showed chaotic scenes of wounded individuals being transported to ambulances and rescuers searching through debris using mobile phone lights. The footage suggested that a residential neighborhood was among the targets.
