Reopening of Pakistan’s Rahim Yar Khan airbase runway postponed until July 18

Pakistan has once again issued a Notice to the Airmen (NOTAM) stating that the runway obliterated in Indian strikes during Operation Sindoor will not be operational till July 18.  Earlier, Pakistan issued a similar NOTAM for the airbase till July 4.

"Pakistan once again issues a NOTAM for Rahim Yar Khan, the runway struck by India in May 2025 now remains offline estimated till 18 July 2025," Damien Symon posted on X.
Rahim Yar Khan air base is in the Punjab province of Pakistan and is located 200 km south of Bahawalpur.

A close-up video released by the Indian Armed Forces showed a massive crater gouged into the runway of Pakistan’s Rahim Yar Khan airbase.

Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor in the early hours of May 7, targeting nine terrorist infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK).

This operation was a retaliatory response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians, including one Nepali national.
