Located in the West Bengal district of Birbhum, Santiniketan is not only a tourist attraction site but a festival of arts, learning and nature. Founded and designed by Nobel prize-winning author Rabindranath Tagore, this tranquil town remains a favourite tourist place because of its location and its cultural heritage.

Santiniketan bears its core in Visva-Bharati University, which was established by Tagore in 1921. The campus is supposed to disseminate the walls of traditional learning with a focus on creativity, self-expression, and natural harmony. Students participate in music, dance, painting, and literature, which makes the whole approach to education.

Kusum Sarovar and Amar Kutir are evidence of the artistic spirit of Santiniketan. The traditional crafts, such as hand weaving of cloth and leather work, are encouraged by Amar Kut, which is a cooperative society. The tourists will have an opportunity to observe the craftsmen at work and bring home genuine handcrafted souvenirs to showcase the rich heritage of the region.

The seasonal festivals in the town bring colour to the landscape of the town. The Poush Mela is an event held during the month of December and is a major attraction to both tourists and locals. There are folk music, traditional dances, handicrafts, and local cuisine, which provide a complete cultural experience to everyone attending the fair. Santiniketann is inseparable from nature. Large green gardens, ponds and outdoor classrooms are used to ensure that visitors embrace nature. Its serene environment has made it a popular place of work among writers, artists, and travellers who need privacy to escape the life of the city.
