After weeks of political unrest and protests, Nepal is working hard to reassure the world that it is once again safe and ready for travelers. Tourism, one of the country’s biggest economic drivers, had faced a setback due to the recent agitation, but citizens and officials alike are now sending out a clear message: Nepal is open for tourism.

Social Media Push from Citizens

Across cities and business hubs, young Nepalis took to social media to clarify that the protests were “purely against the govt, without any intention of hurting tourists.” Widely followed accounts such as Routine of Nepal Banda (with over a million followers) even shared images of foreign tourists dancing to folk music, appealing: “Nepal back to normal. Please visit our beautiful country.”

Regulus Nepal, a trekking and expedition travel agency, shared on Instagram: “Nepal is Always Ready to Welcome the World. Nepal is not only safe but also ready to embrace travelers from across the globe with warmth, comfort, and unforgettable experiences.”
