Inaugurated in June 2017 as Habibganj Station, this historic hub became India’s first privately run railway station. In November 2021, it was renamed Rani Kamalapati to honour the Gond queen, reflecting both heritage and progress. Operating under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), Indian Railways retains ownership, while day-to-day operations and maintenance are handled by the Bansal Group with support from the Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation (IRSDC).
