Floating villages are especially attractive since they merge the water with daily life, being the central scene. These communities will also have their resilience, tradition and beauty as seen in Asia to Africa, and they tend to be made to look like movie settings. These are six amazing floating villages that fascinate travellers with their surreal scenery.

Kampong Phluk, Cambodia
Kampong Phluk is situated on the Tonle Sap Lake and is constructed on superb stilts which stand high amidst the water. Homes look like they are floating, and boats are the primary means of transportation during the monsoon. The visitors tend to call it a magical place that looks like a movie set.

Ganvie, Benin
Ganvie is a centuries-old community that is commonly referred to as the Venice of Africa, as it is composed of 100 per cent of the surface of Lake Nokoue. Constructions consist of wooden huts, which are built on stilts, and linked by the narrow canals transporting people to markets. Fishermen row their canoes every day, and this creates a dream water-bound existence.

Inle Lake Villages, Myanmar
The Inle Lake villages have stilt houses, floating gardens and leg-rowers. Whole villages are built on top of the water, schools, markets, and even monasteries suspended in the lake. The view is similar to a made stage, which is culturally rich.
