Valve has formally introduced the Steam Machine as part of its upcoming Steam Hardware lineup, confirming an early-2026 release window. The device sits alongside the new Steam Controller and Steam Frame, forming a unified ecosystem built around SteamOS. The Steam Machine is presented as a cube-shaped gaming PC designed for use with televisions or desktop setups, with the ability to run the entire Steam library after signing in with a Steam account.

Features
Valve says the Steam Machine offers over six times the performance of the Steam Deck, supported by a semi-custom AMD CPU and GPU capable of 4K output at 60fps with FSR enabled. The system runs SteamOS and includes suspend-and-resume support, cloud saves and Steam Machine verification ratings to help users understand game compatibility.

Two storage options are available — 512GB and 2TB — both supporting microSD expansion. The Steam Machine includes an integrated power supply and an LED status strip with adjustable colours and animations.

Availability
Valve confirms a global rollout beginning in early 2026, with Steam Hardware pages now live for the Steam Machine, Steam Controller and Steam Frame. Users can wishlist the device for updates on release timelines.
