Microsoft is doubling down on its AI-first hardware vision with the launch of two new Copilot+ PCs: a 13-inch Surface Laptop and a 12-inch Surface Pro, both powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus processors. The devices, announced ahead of Microsoft’s Build conference, bring Copilot+ to more users at lower price points while emphasizing portability, battery life, and new Windows 11 AI features.
Surface Laptop, Surface Pro: Pricing
Microsoft hasn't revealed the India prices as of now. In the US, the Surface Laptop 13 starts at $899 whereas the Surface Pro starts at $799.
The new Surface Laptop is Microsoft’s thinnest yet and reportedly offers the longest battery life of any Surface device, paired with universal USB-C fast charging. Its 13-inch frame houses enough performance for productivity, content creation, and AI-assisted workflows.
Meanwhile, the redesigned Surface Pro 12-inch packs a Snapdragon X Plus chip into a 1.5-pound tablet with an adjustable kickstand and detachable keyboard. Microsoft’s Surface Slim Pen now magnetically snaps to the back of the device, a nod to more integrated, mobile-first design thinking.
The new Surface Pro Keyboard also gets a refresh with a matte palm rest, full-size backlit keys, and a customizable precision touchpad—complete with adaptive touch for improved accessibility.
These launches coincide with the upcoming wave of AI-native experiences in Windows 11, including a new Start menu with phone syncing, AI-driven actions in File Explorer, and smarter features across Photos, Notepad, and even Paint. Microsoft is also enhancing Copilot’s functionality with more context-aware commands and expanding its role across system settings and productivity tools.
“With Copilot+ PCs, we’re delivering a new category of Windows devices designed for the AI era,” Microsoft said in the announcement.
The new Surface devices will be available in India starting July 15, 2025, with pre-orders open now.
