Medieval action-adventure RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has crossed the 2 million overall sales mark. The first-person open-world action game has proved to be a massive hit among gamers, selling 2 million copies in under 2 weeks since launching on February 4. Developer Warhorse Studios took to X to celebrate the milestone.
“Two million copies in under two weeks! A toast to you all for making #KCD2 a triumph!”, said the Prague-based video game developer in a post on X.
Published by Deep Silver, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was received eagerly by RPG players the world over upon release; the open-world game sold 1 million copies on the launch day itself. Two weeks have gone by and it has endured in popularity.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is currently the fourth biggest-selling game by revenue on Valve’s Steam platform. Besides Steam, it is also available on Epic Games Store on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is set in 15th-century Bohemia and features the story of a young blacksmith named Henry who gets caught in the political turmoil of the times. The game is the sequel to 2018’s Kingdom Come: Deliverance, the title that introduced players to Henry. In today's world, the region featured in the game is known as the Czech Republic.
As Henry of Skalitz, you'll get to explore the villages and towns of Bohemia as you travel. You'll also get to interact with characters with their own stories and the open world of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 allows you to become a part of their life story in a non-linear fashion. "Every choice you make in the Kingdom Come: Deliverance universe has a consequence when it comes to your relationships with Bohemia’s inhabitants", the developers said in a post on Steam.
For combat, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 offers plenty of medieval-age weapons like swords, maces, bows and crossbows. The combat style is a mix of weapon-based and hand-to-hand fighting; you will also get to fight on horseback.
