Jio will take its indigenously built telecom technology stack and digital services to international markets as the company transforms into a deep-tech powerhouse, Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, said on Friday.
“Our innovative technologies are now ready to be deployed globally and solve global challenges. With strategic partnerships and a clear roadmap, we will take Jio Services International, creating value for partners and shareholders alike,” Ambani said, addressing shareholders at Reliance Industries’ annual general meeting.
Reflecting on Jio’s growth, Ambani said the company now serves over 500 million customers—more than the combined populations of the US, UK and France—carrying the largest wireless data traffic in the world. “This isn’t just scale, it’s a testament to the trust Jio has earned from every corner of India,” he said.
Jio’s next growth engine, he noted, will be driven by businesses large and small, with scalable and secure digital platforms designed for MSMEs and enterprises. “This is not just digitisation, it’s the democratisation of enterprise-grade technology,” Ambani said.
He underlined Jio’s transformation into a deep-tech company, citing its fully in-house technology stack—from 5G code development and the rollout of the world’s fastest 5G services, to the launch of its industry-first home broadband innovation UBR and the rapid expansion of Jio AirFiber, now the world’s largest fixed wireless provider, adding over one million homes per month.
Ambani also highlighted Jio’s integration of AI across customer journeys, diagnostics, and automation, positioning the company to help make India the world’s first AI-native digital economy.
“At Jio, customer service is not a department, it is a promise,” he said, adding that GenAI-enabled systems are being deployed across touchpoints to deliver “precision and delight at scale.”
“Behind every achievement is a mission to serve customers with heart, to connect the unconnected and uplift every citizen,” Ambani said, while asserting that Jio is on a path to serve not just India’s digital future but also global markets.
