Infosys, AI4Bharat, People+AI, four others join AI Alliance

The Indian companies joining the AI Alliance represent a cross-section of industries and academic institutions spanning technology, agriculture and AI research

Seven Indian organisations, including Infosys, AI4Bharat and People+AI, have joined the AI Alliance, a global community led by tech giants such as IBM and Meta for promoting safe artificial intelligence (AI).

Sarvam AI, Wadhwani AI, Indian Institute of Technology-Jodhpur and KissanAI are the other entities to have joined the grouping.

"AI Alliance, which is dedicated to the mission of promoting open, safe and responsible artificial intelligence is proud to add a diverse mix of academia, startups, enterprises from India who are committed to open science and open technologies and want to participate in the new wave of AI innovation," AI Alliance said in a statement on September 18.

By joining the alliance, the firms can contribute to shape the evolution of the global AI landscape that reflects the needs and the complexity of India, it added.
