Perplexity’s AI-powered Comet browser is now available for Android users, bringing its smart, assistant-driven browsing experience from desktop to smartphones. The browser first arrived in July on desktops, and now Android users can access most of the same AI features on the go.

Comet is designed around Perplexity’s AI search engine, which can now be set as the default search option on Android. One of the standout features is the ability to “talk” to your browser. Users can mention specific tabs or ask questions about all their open tabs at once, and the assistant will pull information from them. There’s also a voice mode, letting you speak your queries instead of typing. The browser can even summarize results across multiple tabs, making it useful for research-heavy tasks.

Perplexity says Comet can also shop and research on your behalf, and you can view exactly what actions the assistant is taking in real time. The Android version includes a built-in ad blocker, offering a cleaner browsing experience right out of the box.

More upgrades are coming soon. The company plans to introduce a conversational agent that can search across websites and take actions on its own, shortcuts for quick assistant commands, and a full password manager. Earlier this month, Perplexity already upgraded the desktop version of Comet Assistant to handle longer, more complex tasks — like pulling data from websites into spreadsheets.
