Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Season 1 comes with new updates to Ranked Play. They are Party Skill Restriction, Seasonal Setback and Loss Forgiveness. Here’s a quick overview of the three Black Ops 6 Ranked Play updates.
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Ranked Play Update: Party Skill Restriction
The Party Skill Restriction update allows four players across different individual Ranks to team up together (make a Party). Even 2 or 3 players of different Ranks can make a Party. As such, it becomes very easy for players across different Ranks to play together in Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Ranked Play. The caveat here is that “Skill Matchmaking will be based on the highest Rank in the Party”, as per an official blog post.
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Ranked Play Update: Seasonal Setback
When the new Black Ops 6 season arrives, players will hurt less now as the “End-of-Season SR Setback has been adjusted to reduce the impact felt by players early in their Rank journey”. Here are the Seasonal Setback rules for Black Ops 6 Seasons:
- Bronze or Silver-Ranked players will not get impacted by the Seasonal Setback and can pick up where they ended each Season with no SR deduction.
- Gold or Platinum-Ranked players will begin the next Black Ops 6 Season in Tier I of Gold or Platinum respectively whereas Diamond and above players will begin the next Season at Diamond I.
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Ranked Play Update: Loss Forgiveness
The Loss Forgiveness update to Black Ops 6 Ranked Play treats the first game of the day for each player like a no-risk warmup with no SR deduction if they lose. Hence, every player’s first loss of the day will be forgiven and not lead to SR loss, irrespective of their Ranks. Also, “the 3 games of Loss Forgiveness that are granted when you’re promoted to a new Rank or at the start of the season now only count down after Losses”.
