Guidelines to boost EV charging infra notified, shows Eco Survey 23-24

The Guidelines and Standards on Charging Infrastructure will help firms looking to establish EV charging stations, the Economic Survey said

Amid a rise in the number of Electric Vehicles (EVs), the government has notified “Guidelines and Standards on Charging Infrastructure” to promote the overall EV ecosystem.

"Considering the burgeoning numbers of electric vehicles (EVs), ‘Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles – Guidelines and Standards’ have been notified to promote the ecosystem of charging infrastructure," the Economic Survey for the financial year 2023-24, tabled in the Parliament on July 22, said.

On June 28, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) issued the revised Guidelines and Standards for Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure.

The norms were first issued on December 14, 2018 and have been revised at least six times. The guidelines and standards help the industry in the installation and operation of the EV charging Infrastructure.
