Apple first introduced Visual Intelligence with the iPhone 16 lineup as a part of its Apple Intelligence features in September 2024. It is a Google Lens-like feature and works like a reverse image search engine by allowing you to point your camera at an object in the real world to learn more about it. At its launch, the feature was exclusive to the iPhone 16 series as they had access to the Camera Control button. Now, Apple is expected to bring Visual Intelligence to iPhone 15 Pro users in a future software update.
Visual Intelligence to be available in iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16e
Apple showed Visual Intelligence as a feature that allowed you to launch it from the Camera Control button. However, recently, Apple announced that Visual Intelligence would be available on the iPhone 16E, which does not have the Camera Control button, through its Action Button. Now, the Cupertino-based tech giant has confirmed to Daring Fireball that the feature will rolled out to the iPhone 15 Pro in a future update.
Like the iPhone 16e, the iPhone 15 Pro doesn't have a Camera Control button. However, Apple suggests that the function would be available through the Control Center interface or via the Action button once the iOS 18.4 update drops.
Whether the update in question is iOS 18.4 beta or future stable releases remains to be seen in the future. However, given that Visual Intelligence will become available on the newly launched iPhone 16e from its purchase date on February 28, the iOS 18.4 stable update seems like the most likely update that will bring Visual Intelligence to the iPhone 15 Pro lineup.
