It is hardly surprising that Virat Kohli chose to attend Wimbledon 2025 as he is currently in London. The star Indian batsman, who earlier this year declared his retirement from Test cricket, attended the Men's Round of 16 match between Novak Djokovic and Alex de Minaur of Australia. Despite losing the opening round 1-6, Djokovic, the Wimbledon finalist from the previous year, did not disappoint.
Kohli and his wife, Anushka Sharma, were spotted in the stands during the game. "What a match. It was business as usual for the gladiator. @djokernole," Kohli wrote on his Instagram Story.
The Serb, who is a seven-time Wimbledon champion, appreciating Kohli's gesture and reacted to it. "Thank you for supporting," the tennis legend wrote on his Instagram story.
Djokovic defeated de Minaur, prevailing 1-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4. Djokovic dropped the opening set 1-6 at Wimbledon for the first time in his career. Roger Federer, James Anderson, and Joe Root were all present for the Round of 16 match.
It was widely anticipated that Virat Kohli would travel to the UK for the five-match series between India and England. But a few days prior to the squad announcement, he shocked everyone by declaring his retirement from the longest format.
