World Test Championship latest points table: Team India should consider themselves lucky to salvage a draw in the third Test against Australia in Brisbane. The team found itself in a tough spot after being reduced to 44/4 in response to Australia's first innings total of 445. KL Rahul, for whom this series has been a sort of redemption, helped India out from a precarious position. Rahul scored 84 and was joined by Ravindra Jadeja, who chipped in with 77, before tailenders Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep helped the visitors avoid the follow-on, a moment which was resoundly celebrated by team's premier batter Virat Kohli and head coach Gautam Gambhir.

Rain played a huge role in deciding the outcome of the match as only a total of 216.1 overs of play was possible on all five days of the match. Following the draw India's win percentage in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle slipped from 57.29 to 55.88. as Rohit Sharma and Co. currently occupy the third spot on the nine-team table.
