Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has responded calmly to being left out of the Asia Cup 2025 squad, saying he prefers to concentrate on his own game rather than worry about decisions that lie beyond his influence.

“I don’t think about it. It’s all in the hands of selectors. The decisions are taken according to the team combination. I will do whatever I can,” said Yashasvi Jaiswal while speaking to Mashable.

The 22-year-old’s omission surprised many, especially as he was in prime form this season. While Shubman Gill made his return to the side, Jaiswal, despite a standout IPL 2025, was overlooked. The left-hander piled up 559 runs in 14 matches at an average of 43 and a strike rate of 159.71, hitting six half-centuries with a top score of 75. Several former players had voiced the opinion that he deserved a call-up.
