It's the second post in two days. Even though he has retired from Test cricket, Virat Kohli appears to be making a comeback in the India vs England series. It was refreshing to see Kohli's initial post on Day 4, which only included Shubman Gill.
Unlike Rohit Sharma, Kohli had lost all social media presence since attending the contentious victory parade of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and it seemed as though he would never come out. Gill made a double-century in the first innings at Edgbaston, Jasprit Bumrah took five wickets, and five hundreds were scored at Leeds, but there was no post from Kohli.

Up until a post on Saturday reassured followers that he was keeping up with the series. What if he isn't playing Test cricket for India anymore? As a lot of people say these days, he is everywhere. But following India's 336 run victory against England, the second post was quite typical.
Any other well-known former cricketer would have posted something similar. Like Sachin Tendulkar or VVS Laxman. Still it was a post. After ceasing to publish cricket-related content on social media, Kohli was now active again.

"Great victory for India at Edgbaston. Fearless and kept pushing England to the wall. Brilliantly led by Shubman with the bat and in the field, and impactful performances from everyone. Special mention to Siraj and Akash for the way they bowled on this pitch,” he posted.
But Jonathan Trott found the post thought-provoking. According to the former England batsman, Kohli's post might have indicated that he missed being in the dressing room. Even though Kohli retired from Test cricket on May 12 at the age of 36, some of his supporters still believe—no—that he would rescind his retirement. And Trott seems to be one of them. He desired that Kohli returns from his retirement, play in the middle order of the Indian team, returning to the format that he loved and made unique.
While talking on the Sony Sports Network, Trott said, "Coming back to Virat Kohli's tweet, no wonder he misses that dressing room feeling. I sometimes wonder how quickly that feeling comes back after you give up the game. Doesn’t he live in St. John’s Wood or nearby? Can he not be persuaded to come back?"
Following Gill's incredible performances in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, it is now difficult to get into the No. 4 spot. To that, Trott stated, "I’m sure he would have liked No. 5 or 3."
