RR join RCB on the auction block; franchise considers move away from Jaipur

Another Indian Premier League (IPL) team has reportedly been placed up for sale while the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are still searching for a new buyer. In a post on X, Harsh Goenka, the brother of Sanjiv Goenka, the owner of the Lucknow Super Giants, disclosed that the Rajasthan Royals have also been placed up for sale.

Currently, the Royals Sports Group (Emerging Media Sporting Holdings Limited) owns 65% of the team. RedBird Capital Partners and Lachlan Murdoch own a few minority shares.

"I hear, not one, but two IPL teams are now up for sale- RCB and RR. It seems clear that people want to cash in the rich valuations today. So two teams for sale and 4/5 possible buyers! Who will be the successful buyers- will it be from Pune, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru or USA?," he wrote on X.
