Robin Uthappa called in by ED over betting app case under PMLA

In a suspected money laundering case involving an illicit online betting software, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has called former cricket player Robin Uthappa for questioning on September 22, sources said on Tuesday, as reported by PTI.

According to the sources, Uthappa, 39, has been asked to have his statement recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in a case involving the website 1xBet. They stated that he has been asked to depose on September 22.

To date, he is the third former Indian cricketer to be called in Delhi for this case. Over the past several weeks, former cricketers Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina have been questioned by the federal probe agency.
