Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi could not control his emotions after Pakistan A thrashed India A in the Rising Stars Asia Cup clash on Sunday (November 16). With the solid victory by 8 wickets against the Jitesh Sharma-led side, Pakistan Shaheens became the first team to qualify for the semi-final of the tournament.
Asked to bat first, India started off in style with Vaibhav Suryavanshi taking charge. The 14-year-old smashed 45 off 28 deliveries, while Naman Dhir also got 35 off 20 balls. After that, it was all Pakistan bowlers show. Fast-bowler Shahid Aziz claimed 3 wickets in 3 overs, while Saad Masood and Maaz Sadaqat got two wickets each helping their side bowl out India in 19 overs for just 136 runs. In reply, Pakistan chased down their target with 40 balls to spare.
Following the victory, Mohsin Naqvi hailed the performance of the team as "fearless".

On the same night, Pakistan's senior team led by Shaheen Shah Afridi completed a whitewash against Sri Lanka with a 6-wicket win in Rawalpindi in the third and final ODI against Sri Lanka. Following the win, Afridi hailed the Pakistan Shaheens in the post-match presser and said, "Pakistan Shaheens won against out neighbours, so that's a big achievement for us."
