India’s veteran pacer Mohammed Shami’s marriage has often been in the spotlight over the past few years. The fast bowler tied the knot with Hasin Jahan in 2014, but the relationship fell apart just four years later. Jahan accused Shami and his family of subjecting her to physical and mental harassment, and she has consistently voiced these allegations on social media and in interviews with news outlets. More recently, Jahan went a step further, calling Shami a “womanizer” and alleging that he lavishes expensive gifts on his girlfriends’ children while neglecting his own daughter, Ayra.
In a recent interview with News24, Shami opened up about his personal life saying that he doesn't want to focus on the past.

He was asked about if he had regret about his wedding to which he replied, "Leave that. I never regret the past. What's gone is gone. I don't want to blame anyone, including myself. I want to focus on my cricket. I don't need these controversies."
Shami is not the only cricketer from India who is in the news for his troubled married life. Shikhar Dhawan and Yuzvendra Chahal also got divorced in recent times.
When questioned about the personal disputes involving cricketers such as Dhawan, Chahal, and himself with their partners, Shami responded, "That's your job to investigate. Why do you want to hang us to death? Look at the other side as well. I focus on cricket, not controversies."
On the cricketing front, Mohammed Shami recently marked his return to competitive action, turning out for East Zone in the ongoing Duleep Trophy. In the match against North Zone in Bengaluru, the 34-year-old bowler wrapped up the opening day with figures of 1 for 55 from 17 overs.
Prior to this, Shami’s last appearance in a professional game came on May 2, when he represented Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. That outing turned out to be a tough one for the pacer, as he went wicketless and gave away 48 runs in just three overs against the Gujarat Titans.
The 2025 IPL season proved underwhelming for him overall, with only six wickets in nine matches. Adding to his struggles, he was unavailable for India’s marquee Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy Test series in England earlier this year and was also left out of the Asia Cup squad for September. Notably, Shami has not featured for the national team since the ICC Champions Trophy in March.
