SRH vs DC Highlights, IPL 2025: The IPL clash between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad was abandoned due to persistent rain during the innings break, bringing an end to SRH's playoff hopes on Monday. With the match called off, both teams were awarded one point each. Sunrisers Hyderabad now have seven points from 11 matches and are officially out of the playoff race, while Delhi Capitals moved up to 13 points from the same number of games, placing them fifth on the points table.
Earlier in the day, Delhi Capitals managed to post 133 for seven after being asked to bat first. The innings got off to a disastrous start as they slumped to 29 for 5 in 7.1 overs. However, a crucial recovery was done by Tristan Stubbs, who remained unbeaten on 41, and Ashutosh Sharma, who smashed a quickfire 41 off 26 deliveries, including two fours and three sixes. Their 66-run partnership for the seventh wicket, built in just 45 balls, helped DC reach a competitive total before rain intervened.
Sunrisers Hyderabad began the contest with some sensational pace bowling led from their skipper Pat Cummins who trapped Karun Nair, Faf du Plessis and Abishek Porel in the powerplay. Harshal Patel who bowled the last over of the powerplay got the important wicket of Delhi Capittals captain Axar Patel which made things from bad to worse for the visitors.
It looked like KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs will do damage control for the visitors but then Jaydev Unadkat struck with the wicket of Rahul after the seventh over.
Vipraj Nigam and Tristan Stubbs did steady the ship for the Capitals with a small partnership in the middle. Both batters were playing smartly but DC's evening continued to stay horrific as a mix up between the two got Nigam run-out who was not interested in a second run at all. Stubbs on the other hand had reached the other end where Nigam was just looking at him. Both batters were shaking heads after that run out.
Earlier, Cummins opened the bowling and struck gold on the first ball with the wicket of Karun Nair. It was a good length delivery, Nair went for a drive and edged it right through to Ishan Kishan behind the wickets. Coming in at number 3, Abishek Porel joined Faf du Plessis in the middle. It went from bad to worse for the Delhi Capitals as Cummins again striked with the wicket of Du Plessis in the third over of the powerplay. Both DC openers were sent back into the pavilion early in the contest.
SRH were absolutely right on the money in the powerplay with perfect length deliveries and got rewarded with wickets for that. SRH captain was again on the money with the wicket of Porel in his third over inside the powerplay.
Earlier, Cummins won the toss and elected to bowl first against SRH. Both teams have made some changes in the playing elevens and Hyderabad have dropped veteran pacer Mohammed Shami.
