Cricbuzz reports that the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction will take place from December 13 to 15. The deadline date for retentions is November 15. Currently, there is no indication that the upcoming auction will be held abroad, unlike the previous two editions — which took place in Dubai (2023) and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (2024). Sources within the franchises believe that the BCCI may opt to conduct the mini-auction in India this time, although the final decision has not yet been confirmed.
What is fairly certain, however, is that the player retention deadline has been set for November 15. By this date, all franchises must submit the list of players they intend to release ahead of the auction. Major changes are not expected across most teams, with the possible exception of Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, who ended last season at the bottom of the standings.

In the auction, Australia's Cameron Green will one of the most attractive names that teams would aim for. He missed the previous season due to injury.
